We create projects that embrace the future of the built environment. The facilities below represent our mission and values in physical form and highlight the powerful outcomes that can come from collaborative teams who share our motivations and adopt innovative technologies and methodologies.
South Landing sits at the foot of Spokane's new Gateway Pedestrian Bridge, extending the University District with more than 450,000 square-feet of completed and planned education, research and office space. Housing a cluster of universities and private-sector companies working to invent the future of energy. South Landing is physically comprised of the Spokane EcoDistrict and the Catalyst Building, one of the nation's largest zero-carbon, zero-energy buildings, providing an immersive, living laboratory for study and experimentation.
The growing neighborhood is the result of a collaborative effort by diverse industry partners to create a place where business and academia intersect.
The Health Peninsula advances regional health education and research through the 178,000 square-foot campus featuring some of Spokane's most advanced life science lab space, classrooms and office space. Made up of the Regional Health Partnership Building and the SIERR Building, the spaces are called home to the University of Washington and Gonzaga University medical programs with additional space to house complementary research users, cultivating collaboration.
The Health Peninsula attracts top students and companies to solve major healthcare issues across the globe. The cluster's shared lab facilities, equipment and collaboration spaces encourage efficient operations and impactful advances in healthcare and health education.
Emerald Initiative develops alternative energy assets, often in connection with real estate assets. We are particularly focused on developing renewable energy infrastructure that enables resilient communities and supports electrical grids to deliver carbon-free operations. Energy building that Emerald Initiative develops is hyper-efficient, but we recognize that without addressing the broader context within which those buildings operate, we are missing a key piece in the climate solution puzzle.
Emerald Initiative has developed alternative energy infrastructure projects throughout Washington State and our affiliate company, McKinstry, has participated in the development of renewable energy projects throughout the United States.
The Industrial Industry is consistently growing and looking to modernize buildings to meet the growing demand for reduced-carbon buildings and to better the communities that they are a part of, such as McKinstry's new Spokane Fabrication Shop pictured above.
Emerald manages a portfolio of industrial properties throughout the Northwest that we are continuing to build. Please reach out to us with new acquisition offerings in Seattle, Portland and Spokane metro areas.
As part of McKinstry's Seattle Campus, the Innovation Center houses both McKinstry groups and leasing tenants who are focused on bringing a more innovative and beneficial future for the built environment and the generations it will serve.
The Innovation Center reflects the benefits that result from utilizing the best practices and systems to create a higher quality facility and was awarded LEED Gold upon it's completion in 2012.
Emerald Initiative envisions, develops, owns and operates commercial real estate and alternative energy infrastructure.
